We work individually with each client to ascertain if the products are suitable for your needs and fit all your requirements. As these are entirely new patent-pending products with never before seen operational mechanisms and compact designs; there are no NCC or Australian standards in place to suit but these are designed and follow as closely as possible, AS1657-4.2.1. and NCC part 220.127.116.11. as guides. Although we differentiate them as a Ladder and a stair, they are both built and considered 'LADDERS'.
We are currently in talks with Australian, European & American legislators to facilitate change in these areas, but it is an extensive process. Therefore, We cannot provide certification from any governing body as of yet, but European & American product testing is underway as they have far more experience with products of this nature. It is therefore up to each individual customer to decide if this is an optimal fit and that they are fully aware that they use this product entirely of their own volition and take all and full responsibility. In no event will Bcompact design be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special consequential damages, to property or life, whatsoever arising out of or connected with the use or misuse of our products.
As each product is designed and built in house to the highest quality standards, We can provide a 5-year manufactures warranty for parts and service within Australia only, hold all necessary insurances and can provide any number of satisfied customer testimonials already using these products and hold multiple recognized national and international product design awards.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

How long we retain your data

Not your average stair or ladder:
We would like to point out that these PATENT PENDING PRODUCTS are of high-end design and Hand Made manufacture, using sustainably sourced Bamboo composite and CNC processes and should not in any way be confused with your basic, pull down timber ladder and in general, are not comparatively priced to compete with those types of products. These are specifically staircase-type replacements, where space is sparse and/or unconventional. And an aesthetically pleasing, easy to use, sturdy and practical addition to your home where space is required; that will ultimately add considerable value with the least cost and infrastructure alterations.
All Hybrid Stairs and Ladders are individually designed to site-specific requirements each time, therefore there are no price lists available to provide immediate cost.
Prices vary with height, angle, finishes, widths, stains, and additional features like security gate mechanism, extra handrails, and locks, etc.
Pricing will increase with taller heights and lower angles and pricing will decrease with lower heights and steeper angles, LADDER range is between 60-70 degrees, 1.2 meters-3.7 meters and STAIR versions range between 50-60 degrees, 1.2 meters-3.4 meters.
We no longer make and/or stock any standard heights and angles; these are now all custom designs/builds per client request, which generally have increased in cost by 10-15% on the old standard products.
In-house testing has shown SWL (safe working load) for the ladder and stair is 200 kg - 175 kg respectively. (Based on a 65 deg ladder and 55 deg stair. It does alter slightly due to varying angles and heights)
